BBC自然史班での10年間を含め、30年にわたり野生生物の映像制作に携わってきた。トンボに関する博士号を持つ。植物の写真撮影では、権威あるInternational Garden Photographer of the Yearのコンペティションで受賞多数。著書に『Paradise Found Nature in America at the Time of Discovery』（University of Chicago Press）、『Flowers of the Field: Meadow, Moor and Woodland』（Head of Zeus）がある。
